Abstract
The author and two additional planners have tested tempering in Italy under commercial conditions without any relationship to research. The testing of tempering will be described using three examples: In the Palazzo Cattaneo – Ala Ponzone in Cremona, a noble’s palace from the 16th century, the tempering pipes were attached at the wall base with mortar rather than being installed under the plaster because of murals. In the Sacro Cuore Church in Monza, built in the 1930’s, and a 19th century house in Arco on Lake Garda, installation under plaster was tested. In all cases tempering proved itself and demonstrated itself simple to install and operate, cost saving, and appropriate for heating, conservation, and drying out wet walls, despite initial uncertainties with the planning. Since then the author has carried out about 100 additional projects with tempering systems.
