Abstract
A study of stone consolidation comparing the effects of methylmethacrylate monomer with those of the combined use of ethyl-silicate and an alkyl-alkoxy-silane on samples of white carrara marble and pyroclastic tuff from Cerveteri (Rome). Experimental results showed that the monomer performs better on both marble and tuff. The ethyl-silicate-silane treatment - on the other hand - is definitely preferable as far as colour variations are concerned.
