To reduce the amount of light reaching specific vulnerable objects on display, the curator, on the advice of conservators, laid pieces of fiberglass mesh or solar-control film on the glass top of cases between light source and specimen. By measuring the light reaching an object and adding layers of filter as needed he adjusted the illumination to the recommended level. -- AATA
