The corrosion of steel, aluminum, zinc and copper is compared. This is dependent on the electrode potential of the metal and the extent to which the corrosion products form a protective layer, which in turn is related to the atmospheric environment. Corrosion rates of the four metals in different environments are shown. -- AATA
