Abstract
A portrait mummy excavated by Petrie in 1911 at Hawara, Egypt, was rediscovered in a private collection in the U.S.A. X-ray photographs taken of the mummy revealed details of the body and the embalming techniques used. The mummy wrappings and portrait are described and its burial context and probable date (probably late 1st century AD) discussed. -- AATA
