Abstract
During restoration work in the pyramid of Teti, during March and April 1984, the author was able to study the accumulations of salts on the walls. Rapid examination showed them to be chiefly sodium chloride, only faintly hygroscopic. The author noted no fresh salt crystallization during the study and believes the situation to be relatively stable. The topography and distribution of the salt crystallization is presented and archaeological evidence noted, and some conclusions drawn as to the age of the phenomenon and the construction of the funerary complex. -- AATA
