A review of deterioration causes affecting photographs. The adequate environmental conditions are discussed: relative humidity, temperature, light, and air pollution. Appropriate materials to be used solely for the storage of photographs are suggested. A special mention is made of the problems involved in the conservation of daguerreotypes and albumen prints.
