Abstract
The Wakas totem pole, first erected in the Kwakiutl village of Alert Bay, around 1893, is scheduled for restoration before going on exhibition in the new Canadian Museum of Civilization. After an introduction the history of the pole is given (mythology; imagery; documentary evidence) illustrated with 14 B/W photographs. References.
