Abstract
In recognition of the neglect suffered by anthropological collections, the National Institute for Conservation published the results of two years of work by a study committee in a report entitled Ethnographic and Archaeological Conservation in the United States. A companion document entitled A Suggested Curriculum for Training in Ethnographic and Archaeological Conservation was published at the same time. This paper summarizes these reports and details the responses to certain points which resulted from its presentation at Symposium '86.
