Abstract
A new method for consolidation of the ground on a deteriorated support devised by the specialists at the Grabar Conservation Centre is described particularly focusing on Russian icons. The author stresses that the materials used should be selected in accordance to compatibility with the composition of the ground of the painting. Examples of this work are presented. -- AATA
