Abstract
The article deals with the history of a famous ship -- the first iron ship to cross the Atlantic by steam -- and her final voyage by tow line from the Falkland Islands to Avonmouth, Bristol Channel, to dry dock and con-servation work. The history part comprises 99/ 100 of the material, but it is interesting because it describes graphically the complexity of the conservation problems confronting the conservators. -- AATA
