Abstract
The effectiveness of some commercial nonaqueous paper deacidification substances was examined within the context of their practical application in the workshop. In addition, self-prepared aqueous buffering baths were tested. The cold extracted pH, buffer capacity, and calcium and magnesium ion concentration of the treated papers were analyzed. A practical method of enriching water with alkaline earth ions using a water circulation system with dolomite is given.
