Abstract
The Inebey Madrasah was used by Library of Rare Hand Painted and Old Printed Works before the restoration and will have the same function after the restoration works. Due to the rare books in the library new installation systems are adapted to the building such as security and fire protection besides the reinforcement and the restoration of the building. The restoration of the building started in 2007 by Bursa Special Provincial Administration. In the restoration works the current state of the madrasah investigated by using mechanical, physical, chemical and non destructive tests (NDT) in-situ & in laboratory for the characterization of the materials used in the Madrasah. After the tests material properties are calculated for the composite materials which was used stone-mortar at walls and brick-mortar at vaults, domes and transition elements. The structural analysis is conducted with self weight and earthquake loads. According to the analyses results restoration studies are determined. During the restoration work for the new use of madrasah as a Library of Rare Hand Painted and Old Printed Works installation systems are renovated.
