Abstract
Study of the selection process of nondestructive testing methods to be applied to the apparently sound paint layers in the tomb of Nefertari. Because of the physical constraints of the tomb and time limitations, the echo method of monitoring reflected ultrasounds was selected as most appropriate and other technical aspects such as coupling, attenuation, echo scattering, and acoustic impedance were considered. A number of experts in the field were consulted and are identified. -- AATA
