Abstract
A unique joint venture is underway to determine if and how archaeological data may be used for answering some questions with great relevance to the modern day world. The subject for which this investigation is being done is the safe disposal of nuclear waste. Some back-ground information on nuclear-waste disposal is given in order to explain how archaeology may be useful. It is proposed that the liquid nuclear waste will be converted to a solid, mixed with glass-forming materials, and melted to form a cylinder of glass.
