Abstract
This investigation identifies the range of refractive indices of adhesives used for glass as well as of typical artistic and historic glasses. The most suitable methods of measurement have been ascertained. A match of 0. 01 can lead to almost invisible repairs. A mismatch of 0. 04 leaves the break or crack readily visible. -- ICCROM
