Abstract
A new sampling method for the simultaneous determination of oxalic acid in the gas phase and oxalate in particles is described. Oxalic acid is collected on a diffusion tube (denuder) coated with sodium carbonate. Oxalic acid is analyzed by ion chromatography. Laboratory and field experiments concerning sampling efficiency, the effect of humidity, and the advantages of the new method over the traditional technique are discussed.
