The Mohawk director of two related national organizations describes the relationship between First Nation cultural education centers and traditional museums. Preservation of Native culture through these centers is discussed, as well as traditional care of sacred/sensitive Native objects which are in museums. The concept of a living museum is examined. An equal partnership, involving mutual respect and an appreciation of First Nations' culture and history, should form the basis for collaboration.
