With references to the various international recommendations, e.g., 1964 Venice Charter, 1975 Declaration of Amsterdam, 1986 Convention of Granada, the author discusses the problem of lacuna treatment in the conservation restoration of architectural heritage, i.e., the architectural form and design of building elements or extensions to be filled-in, replacing lost parts.
