Abstract
Iron objects from excavations are divided according to their condition, and the treatment for those unfit for electrolytic reduction is described. Details are given of the use of micro-crystalline wax or polyvinyl acetate with graphite to give an acceptable finish to badly corroded and friable archaeological specimens, with descriptions of some of the equipment and materials used.
