The polychromy of the tryptych of Kärrbo is compared with that of four other Swedish tryptychs of the same period. One of the four is very similar to the Kärrbo altarpiece. The author contends that no one artist was responsible for these late medieval works. They were made by groups of craftsmen, and painters and carvers were equally important.
