Abstract
The sample of ground consisted of CaSO<sub>4</sub> and CaCO<sub>3</sub>. Lead white 2PbCO<sub>3</sub>, Pb(OH)<sub>2</sub>, was also identified. A high tin content was found in the lead white and lead red. Another red pigment of the icon was natural madder. The copper content of the green paint was very high, but the crystalline structure was not determined.
