Abstract
Brief presentation of the results of the metallographic investigation of the two Horses on the left of the group (as viewer faces sculptural ensemble) includes chemical analyses of the alloys used for casting various sections. The study also includes the metallographic and thickness measurements of Horse B and the radiographic examination of parts of Horse A. The alloying elements and principal impurities agree with the results of analyses of 1815 and 1842. Galvanic corrosion is taking place on the alloy surface. Some aspects of the casting technique can be determined through radiographic examination.
