Abstract
A stainless steel abstract sculpture was erected outdoors in Baltimore. In order to insure its preservation in the city environment, specific studies in design and fabrication were undertaken: to determine structural stability and to choose a stainless steel alloy resistant to corrosion. Several of the engineering problems of the design are discussed.
