Remains of domestic dog come from the two northern Yorkshire sites and from Kongemose in Denmark. The Seamer Carr dog bones have yielded a stable carbon isotope ratio which indicates a mainly marine diet, as did the Kongemose dogs. This suggests that the dogs normally lived on the seashore but died while on hunting trips inland. It is concluded that the three sites represent hunting stations that were visited throughout the year by coast dwellers. The butchery evidence supports this hypothesis.
