Abstract
One of a series of articles focusing on the actual problems encountered during the repair of individual books, in this case a religious text printed in London in 1622, now in the British Library. The article illustrates and explains the steps involved in collating, dry cleaning, pulling and washing, deacidification, stripping up with Kozuski Japanese tissue paper, sewing on five flexible hemp cords, binding in red half Morocco, adding a machine-sewn headband and gold lettering.
