Abstract
Wood draws upon contemporary manuscripts and archaeological evidence for her descriptions of the process of working live oak timber and the lives of live oakers. Her book, whileprimarily a social and economic study of southern shipbuilding, contains a section dealing with the restoration of the Constitution in the late 1920's. -- AATA
