This technical booklet is the third in a series of five to address building issues congregations face in maintaining traditional houses of worship. It was developed for church and temple administrators and maintenance staff who already have a basic understanding of building systems. This booklet provides general information and guidance and is not intended to be used as a training manual for systems maintenance. It examines the development of various systems in older and historic houses of worship and provides guidance on routine maintenance.
