Abstract
Twenty-five trace elements were determined by activation analysis on samples from two statues and from four quarries. Statistical study by F-test (statistical test) indicated that rubidium, scandium, lanthanum, and lutetium concentrations were the most discriminating. Discriminant analysis of results allowed attribution of the stone of the statue to the Musso quarry. The weathering processes influence the distribution of trace elements.
