Abstract
Even though they are not generally found in domestic usage, the authors came across a zinc object. It was corroded due to several factors creating a white incrustation on the surface. The incrustation was chiefly zinc carbonate. Experiments for the removal of zinc carbonate incrustation proved that acid or alkali is not useful, as the fresh surface of the object is highly active in humid atmosphere. A stannous chloride solution was found useful for the treatment.
