Abstract
Preliminary report on the boat found in a bank of the River Usk and excavated using a temporary embankment and drainage pumps. It is flat-bottomed and double-ended, some 18 m in length overall and 2.7 m maximum beam, with towing mast set in the keelson. Last use was probably in the later 19th century, but dendrochronological dating may refine that estimate.
