Abstract
Blood stains on certain fabrics like those on flags used in battle or on costumes of assassinated leaders become valuable characteristics of the objects and therefore have to be preserved. A general outline of the components of blood and a description of the preservative treatment given to two blood-stained flags in the collection of the National Defence Academy at Pune, India, are given here.
