Plastic powder coatings are well on their way to becoming a major technique for metal finishing. Vinyls, nylons, cellolosics, epoxies, polyolefins and other plastic powders are being applied by fluidized-bed and other techniques. There are limitations, of course; one is that the part to be coated must be able to withstand preheat temperatures of 450 to 650 F or higher.
