Traditionally, copper and copper alloys have been limited in some applications because of tarnishing. But this is no longer a problem. Reason: several highly effective clear coating systems have been developed during the past few years which keep copper gleaming and free of tarnish for periods up to 25 years. Additionally, there are hundreds of ways in which to add color to copper for decorative uses.
