Abstract
The investigation of the structural changes in metals under the effect of powerful ultrasonic vibrations permits to clarify the nature and roles of many processes taking place in metals at alternating loads. It is possible to conclude that dislocations in the material arise and move under the effect of ultrasound. The rise in the number of dislocations increases the probability of their interactions, leading in particular to the creation of vacancies.
