The Curator and Instructor, University of Iowa Museum of Natural History, illustrate techniques developed within the past twenty years. Rabbits have suffered the greatest from faulty preparation because of conditions unique to them -- extremely delicate skins and highly developed ears which must be faithfully duplicated in the mounted specimen. Describes making the nose mold and skinning the specimen, preparing the skin and ears for mounting, making the balsa wood and excelsior manikin, and mounting the skin.
