Abstract
The EM-31 conductivity meter (product of Geonics) was modified in order to make it suitable for archaeological purposes. Application of horizontal dipoles, interfacing a pocket computer to the receiver, and calculating and displaying apparent resistivity values in addition to conductivity allow successful use of this meter in solving archaeological tasks.
