Re-evaluates archaeological prospecting techniques by reporting on the application of magnetic prospecting, resistivity, the electro-magnetic method, and ground-penetrating radar survey to the Ooto site in Fukushima prefecture. Magnetic prospecting was reconfirmed as the most effective method for surveying a thermoremanent site with an old kiln.
