Poly (methyl methacrylate), PMMA, was dissolved in methyl ethyl ketone (butanone). Decreasing the molecular weight of the PMMA markedly increased the dissolution rate, as did reducing the glass transition temperature by including a plasticizer, (polyethylene glycol). (Abstractor's note: Most polymers are removed from objects by solvent action. These findings point towards techniques of increasing the future possibility of reversing a treatment.)
