Many cleaning devices and compounds have been tried by collectors, and extreme skepticism has been the result. This article discusses some of the problems, seen and unseen, that face the delicate vinyl grooves. Detrimental characteristics are discussed that a record-cleaning fluid can posses, and finally approach the integration of record cleaning with record safety in the formulation of a cleaning fluid.
