Questions arise regarding the original place of production of Inner Alpine Laugen-Melaun ceramics in Liechtenstein. Analyses were conducted on 46 ceramic specimens from 5 different sites. The majority of the pieces contained serpentinite and were probably manufactured locally. However, it cannot be determined if naturally dried clays were used or if serpentinite was added. Three samples were identified as imports. The ceramic tradition did not change much in the 500 year period covered. It is assumed that some of the ceramics were brought with immigrants who came from the south.
