The authors give the results of x-ray analysis of the corrosion products on copper specimens tested for 2 and 10 years in rural, urban, industrial-urban, moist subtropical, and marine atmospheres. Depending on the type of atomospere, the corrosion products may contain Cu2O, basic sulfate in various modification (brochantite, antlerite, posnjakite, langite), and basic chloride (paratacamite, botallackite). Little difference is noted in the compositions of the corrosion products for test periods of 2 and 10 years, nor for specimens tested in the open air and in louvered boxes.
