This short article contains an inspection checklist to note features to be examined and tested before cleaning an oriental rug. It also list tools, equipment and chemicals needed for cleaning rugs or tapestries of weakened foundation construction or brittle and shedding pile, or fugitive dyes. A procedure outline is given for cleaning rugs.
