Abstract
Impregnation with beeswax and wax resin adhesives containing beeswax caused cracking of some oil paint films after artificial aging. All paint films investigated had reduced resistance to abrasion after impregnation with wax adhesives. A new abrasion tester was designed and built in order to measure the effects of cleaning solvents on paint films. -- AATA
