The compounds, 2-(2'-arylthio) ethanamines, 2-(2',4'-arylthio) ethanamines have been prepared and converted into their corresponding sulfoxides, sulfones and thioureas. These compounds have been tested for their anticoagulating and antifungal activities. 2-(2'-carboxy-4-bromo arylthio) ethanamine and 2(2'-carboxy-4-bromo arylsulfoxido) ethanamine showed significant anticoagulating activity and rest of the compounds exhibited little activity. Among these 2(2'-carboxy arylthio) ethanamine and 2(2'-carboxy arylthio) ethanamine and 2(2'-carboxy-4-bromo arylthio) ethanamine have been found to be highly antifungal when compared to their derivatives.
