Abstract
Removal of the damaging radiation from ultraviolet light may be achieved by fitting filtering plastic sheaths over fluorescent tubes or by using sheeting or varnishes containing ultraviolet absorbing chemicals in contact with the glass of a case, window or skylight. The relative effectiveness of plexiglas UF1 and UF3; V A Clear and V E Clear, as well as Ray-Shield tubing and sheeting are discussed and sources of supply are cited. The loss of effectiveness of filtering material is emphasized and the necessity for their replacement from time to time.
