Abstract
Land use at Poseidon's Sanctuary at Isthmia (near Corinth) is briefly described. Slag found near the temple, dating from the 5th century B.C., was analyzed to pinpoint the type of metal produced. Chemical analysis and metallurgical considerations indicate the smelting of bloom iron, and not copper or lead smelting. -- AATA
