Abstract
This report deals with 102 obsidian specimens from the northwest Alaska analyzed by neutron activation. Results published elsewhere indicate that Na and Mn provide reasonably good discrimination of obsidian sources in North America, so these were the only elements determined in the present study. Four distinct groups were identified with these elements. Some differences in time depth between exploitation of the different sources is noted, along with some differences in geographical occurrence. The geographic locations of the sources themselves were not identified.
