Abstract
Samples from five medieval iron breast-plates and nine specimens of medieval European and Turkish plate armor and chain-mail were examined metallographically. Methods of working and hardening are deduced, as well as the manufactunng method of two chain-mail samples. Results from work by other authors are briefly summarized. -- AATA
