Abstract
The author wanted to associate with the antique bronzes exhibited in the Pitt Rivers Museum a modern series illustrating the methods by which the old Nigerian artists had achieved their results. Mr. Rattray brought back 3 specimens showing the three principal stages involved in the casting of a human head in brass and obtained an account of the process (included in the article) from the artist, a Yoruba native named Ali.
